New Technology Lighitng Demo Projects
With an objective to demonstrate, the most efficient technology option for the Municipal Street Lighting, HAREDA has prepared a special & first of its kind project for installing the light emitting diode (L.E.D) based street lighting fixtures in the entire municipal area of the Kalka town of Panchkula district. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India has sanctioned this project on 14.1.2010 and has released full project cost of Rs. 70.16 lacs for implementation of this project. Under this project, 103 HPSV Lamps OF 250W will be replaced with 120 W LED Based street lighting and 901 conventional 40W tube lights with 24W LED based street lights. Besides this, 7 microprocessor based timers to switch the street lights at pre determined time shall be installed on all the seven switching panels. The installed equipments will be warranted for two years followed by three years CMC . As per the pre-installation study conducted by an independent consultant appointed by the BEE,GOI, implementation of the project shall result in estimated annual savings of 2.0 lacs units of electricity. Life of the Light Emitting Diode (LED) fixtures is more by ten times as compared to conventional fixtures besides these consumes 50% less power with conventional fixtures.
